This
is my very favorite cherry pie recipe. This technique can be followed for making any fresh fruit
pie -- properly thickening the cornstarch mixture before the recipe is
baked. (Precooking also gets rid of a slightly starchy taste that
cornstarch will often impart to a recipe.
