Ladyfingers are really small sponge cakes that are dried (http://baking911.com/cakes_sponge.htm). You can purchase them online: http://www.ethnicgrocer.com/eg/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=EthnicGrocer&product%5Fid=033227017018
You can substitute ladyfingers with a sponge cake, angel food cake or pound cake that is that is cut up into a roughly shaped like a rather large, fat finger. Each can be made from a recipe (http://www.baking911recipes.com) or a mix or already made from the grocery store.
After cutting, just let the cake pieces sit out overnight until they are somewhat dry and then use them. This should help them from getting soggy when used in a Tiramisu recipe (http://baking911.com/cakes_tiramisu).
If you are in the mood, I have recipes and photos with step-by-step information on how to make your own ladyfingers: http://www.baking911.com/cakes_sponge_ladyfingers.htm
