I don't recommend freezing cream cheese icing because cream cheese really breaks down when it thaws. You can keep a cake covered with cream cheese icing in the fridge for about 2 days. Also, in the heat, be sure your cake is transported cold and kept in an air conditioned room because cream cheese buttercream is usually MUCH softer than a basic shortening/butter buttercream. Tami
